From Zero to Bounty Hunter: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Cybersecurity Flaws

Hello guys, in this article I’m going to share some tips that helped me on how to become a successful bug hunter. I´m Octavian, a network engineer by day and a Synack Red Team Bug Hunter by night.

Disclaimer, there is no magic way or shortcut to be a successful bug hunter, you will have to work hard, persistence is key.

First of all, focus less on $$ and more on learning. The vast majority of people you see on social media posting their four-digit rewards have 5–10 years of experience in the domain. You can ramp up easily, but there is a learning curve to that.

BURP SUITE! Learn how to use this magic tool called Burp Suite. I use it almost every day, and so will you as it will become your best friend. You can learn by watching tutorials on YouTube and practicing by yourself, but I recommend you start here as there are a ton of labs for every type of vulnerability, and clearly explained how everything works.
