New job, new cert, new goals

As I’m trying to make my into cybersecurity from 0, I hope my journey will inspire you.

Ciao IBM, Hello LKS IT!

After spending the last year working for IBM at the Global Technology Services section and learning a ton of things, I’ve decided I needed a change. During my last three months with them all my tasks were the same, like a production chain in a factory, every day the same work. I was getting really bored and I thought I was wasting my time, so I began applying for different jobs in cybersecurity (almost all for red teaming). I did a lot of technical interviews, and every time I got the same answer in the end:“You are good, but you don’t have experience in this field”. I kept going until one week I got three job offers. Two were for red team roles and one for blue team, and I ended choosing the blue team job. Why a blue team job when my dream is to be a red team professional? Because I wanted to know how the blue team works, so in the future I’ll be better them as a red teamer.

The title of the job is “Network & Security Expert” and it consists in designing, implementing and improving network for different clients and, configuring their firewalls and defensive systems to prevent malicious threats for their assets.
